Ceremony for Albana Melyshi-Lifshin

A literary evening to promote the recent publication of Ms. Lifshin’s book in the US, as told through the eyes of two generation of political exile from the communist regime in Albania and the values of freedom and democracy the author found in the US. Ms. Lifshin is a well renowned author and radio broadcaster whose work has a wide resonance amoung the Albanian-American community in the United States. Food and entertainment was provided for by AAWO and Dr. Anna Kohen. AAWO volunteers read the poems and helped the attendees get better acquainted with Mrs. Melyshi – Lifshin and her poetry. Many community musicians and entertainers performed in this event. $350 from the evening book sales were donated to AAWO.
