This page is maintained by Albanian American Women's Organization Motrat Qiriazi Inc. to explain how we collect, use, and protect information from visitors, members, and donors.

Effective date: January 1, 2026

1. Who we are

Albanian American Women's Organization Motrat Qiriazi Inc. ("AAWO," "we," "us," or "our") is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in New York. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and related services.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information you provide to us or that is needed to operate the site:

  • Membership & contact forms: full name, email, phone (optional), city, and any message you send.
  • Donations & memberships: donation amount, package selection, and a payment confirmation reference. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor (Stripe) and are never stored on our servers.
  • Account information: email and authentication data if you create an admin or member account.
  • Technical information: basic log data such as IP address, browser, and pages visited, used for security and site reliability.

We do not use third-party advertising or social media tracking pixels on this site.

3. How we use information

  • To process donations, memberships, and renewals.
  • To respond to messages and provide updates about programs and events.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website.
  • To comply with legal, tax, and reporting obligations applicable to nonprofits.

4. How we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share limited information only with:

  • Stripe — to process payments and manage recurring memberships. Stripe's practices are governed by its own Privacy Policy.
  • Our hosting and database providers — to host the website and store records securely.
  • Legal authorities — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.

5. Data retention

We keep membership, donation, and financial records for as long as required by U.S. and New York State nonprofit and tax law (typically at least 7 years). Other contact information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected.

6. Your rights

You may contact us at any time to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of information we are not legally required to keep.
  • Unsubscribe from communications.

  • Right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used.
  • Right to delete personal information, subject to legal retention exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.
